Job Description - Field Performance Manager

The key purpose of the Field Performance Manager is to turn the dial on operational and financial excellence across our Connections business, by delivering improvement actions informed through the use of analytics and business insights.
Evidenced through data, the role holder will be responsible for supporting the Head of Insights & Performance by driving improvements across our field operational teams. Working together with our Insights & Performance Manager they will track progress and size & understand further business opportunities, whilst keeping the operational teams and senior management team up to speed.
Working with the Field Operations Management Team, the holder of this roll will be responsible for managing the bandwidth of performance across the field operations organisation through the setting and delivering of detailed action plans. They will collaborate with the field operations teams and the Insights & Performance Manager to ensure the action plans are data driven, and then own those plans by tracking progress, driving engagement and escalating to management where needed. To support they will have line management responsibility over a small team of field based performance coaches, and as a team you will need to drive a culture that encourages outcome driven results across the larger Connections business.
A further instrumental part of this role will be to facilitate the support of engineers and Team Managers to validate assumptions and cultivate ideas leading to building recommendations that can translated into immediate changes or establishing trials before wider roll out.Building and maintaining collaborative relationships with internal stakeholders, external partners and customers will be also be a key requirement of this role.
OVERVIEW OF RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsible for directly managing and improving the operational performance.
Support the Director and Senior management team in understanding opportunities to improve performance across their contracts. - Ability to effectively take a problem statement, understand the detail and produce effective recommendations of what is causing the problem and what we can do differently. Insight from you will need to be easy to understand, tangible and easily consumable by a field based operation.
Work closely with the senior management team to help them understand individual opportunities within their own business and produce needed insight to support them in driving forward improvements.
Produce regularly updates which will support the Director and HoD to challenge the Senior management community on performance, allowing them to in turn to challenge their management teams.
Manage a platform that will allow engineers and managers to trial grass roots ideas. Work with them to scope out their idea, provide the initial data to understand if the idea has potential and then work with them to run trails which showcase benefits.
Manage a wide spread, small team of Performance Coaches.
Proactively spot opportunities within the organisation and bring to the attention of the senior management to help inform future strategy.

EXPERIENCE/KNOWLEDGE

Experience within a service delivery telco sector
Strong leadership abilities with proven experience leading and working with successful engineering teams and ability to manage operational risk.
Proven track recording to driving performance that has supported the delivery of significantly improved outcomes.
Self-motivated, result driven and thrives in a busy working environment.
Dynamic leadership capability, understanding culture and what it means to cultivate a leadership mentality
Renowned for creating sustainable performance through personal leadership
Strong communication skills and abilities to build solid relationships with key stakeholders
Strong analytical and data visualisation skills

proficient in the use of Power BI, Excel, SQL and Sharepoint.
Proven ability to augment data and use it to succinctly tell a stories an audience of varying experience and competency.
Pragmatic team player, adept at holding others to account through a challenging and supportive leadership style, whilst consistently delivering on their own commitments.
Ability to manage a complex group of operational and non-operational stakeholders.
Ability to work as part of a virtual team.
Ability to utilise insight in order to drive business decisions and outcomes applying operational insight and excellent problem solving capability.
Effectively present recommendations and finding up to MD level.
Capability of influencing & challenging peers to encourage innovation & achieve the best customer outcomes.
Technical knowledge of complex telecoms networks and network technologies.
