Position: Field Service Engineer

Job Type: Permanent

Hours: 39 hours per week, Monday - Friday 

Location: Bristol site and Field-Based (UK-wide travel required)

Join SGS as a Field Service Engineer – Gas Analysis and play a key role in delivering cutting‑edge gas testing, servicing, and calibration projects across the UK. In this dynamic, field‑based role, you’ll visit customer sites nationwide, carrying out essential on‑site testing and supporting our gas analysis operations. You’ll receive comprehensive training at our Ireland office and through external partners, while working closely with our Bristol-based team of engineers, scientists, and quality specialists.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct gas testing and collect samples from customer sites for laboratory analysis.
• Service, maintain, and calibrate gas analysis instrumentation.
• Provide technical support to clients and produce detailed, accurate reports.
• Develop knowledge of gas analysis equipment, process gas requirements, and basic chemistry principles.
• Support quality activities, including maintaining documentation and assisting the Quality Manager with the Quality Management System.

• A qualification in a relevant field or 1–2 years’ experience in a similar role.
• Strong communication skills and a customer-focused mindset.
• Full, clean driving licence to use in the UK
