CNC Recruitment is delighted to be recruiting for a Field Service Engineer on behalf of a well-established specialist engineering business.
This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer with a background in service, maintenance, or electro-mechanical equipment to join a growing company operating within a specialist technical sector. The role is primarily field-based, supporting customers across the UK, with the majority of work located throughout the South West of England.
Full training will be provided on weighing systems and calibration procedures, making this an ideal opportunity for someone looking to develop specialist industry skills.
The Role
As a Field Service Engineer, you will be responsible for the service, calibration, testing, repair, and installation of weighing and associated equipment at customer sites. You will play a key role in ensuring customers receive a professional, efficient, and compliant service while maintaining accurate records and certification documentation.
Regular travel will be required as part of this position, and a company vehicle will be provided.
Key Responsibilities
* Service, calibrate, test, repair, and install weighing and related equipment.
* Diagnose faults and carry out maintenance activities to ensure equipment operates effectively.
* Complete service reports, calibration certificates, and supporting documentation accurately.
* Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards, company procedures, and health and safety requirements.
* Deliver a high standard of customer service and technical support.
* Build and maintain positive relationships with customers.
* Manage workload effectively while working independently in the field.
* Attend training and development activities as required.
Candidate Requirements
Essential
* Previous experience within an engineering, maintenance, or field service role.
* Good mechanical and electrical aptitude with fault-finding abilities.
* Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
* Competent IT skills for completing electronic reports and documentation.
* Excellent communication and customer service skills.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a wider team.
* Full UK Driving Licence.
Desirable
* Experience working with electro-mechanical equipment.
* Previous exposure to weighing equipment, calibration, instrumentation, or similar industries.
* Commercial awareness and confidence when discussing customer requirements and solutions.
