Introduction for Field Service Engineer – Metrology

Industrial Connected Talent is supporting a leading supplier of precision measurement systems in the search for a Field Service Engineer.

This is a hands-on field service role working with multi-sensor metrology equipment at customer sites across the UK. The successful candidate will be responsible for installation, calibration, preventative maintenance, breakdown support and system upgrades.

Responsibilities for Field Service Engineer – Metrology

As Field Service Engineer, you will provide technical support to customers across the UK, helping ensure measurement systems remain accurate, reliable and fully operational.

• Install multi-sensor precision measurement systems at customer sites

• Carry out UKAS calibration and accuracy verification

• Complete preventative maintenance and planned service visits

• Diagnose and resolve equipment breakdowns

• Carry out system retrofits and upgrades

• Provide hands-on customer support and technical guidance

• Maintain accurate service and calibration records

Requirements for Field Service Engineer – Metrology

The ideal candidate will have field service or engineering experience, ideally involving metrology, CMMs, inspection equipment or precision measurement systems. You should be comfortable working independently at customer sites and travelling regularly.

• Field service, maintenance or engineering experience

• Mechanical or electrical engineering background

• Exposure to metrology, CMMs or precision measurement equipment would be highly beneficial

• Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills

• Willingness to learn UKAS calibration standards and processes

• Good customer-facing communication skills

• Full UK driving licence

• Comfortable with regular UK travel
