Field Service Engineer - Data Canters

Field Search Engineer – North West of London.

We’re looking for a highly motivated engineer to play a key role in delivering customized UPS and data center solutions. You’ll collaborate closely with our sales team, leveraging your technical and commercial acumen to develop optimal solutions that meet client needs. This role offers the opportunity to:

• Provide Expertise in Data Center Solutions: Bring your in-depth understanding of complex data center solutions and electrical engineering principles to the table. You’ll work across disciplines (UPS, HVAC, etc.) to ensure comprehensive and well-coordinated project proposals.
• Bridge the Gap Between Technical and Commercial Aspects: This role demands both technical and commercial proficiency. You’ll translate complex technical concepts into solutions that meet client requirements and contribute to the company’s business development within the UPS and data center market.
• Become a UPS Systems Specialist: Develop a deep understanding of UPS systems, including the ability to design solutions based on project specifications. This includes proficiency in Li-ion and VRLA battery sizing, LV switchboard design, and power busway arrangement and costing.
• Lead on Electrical Design and Documentation: Take ownership of the electrical design discipline, ensuring well-developed documentation for project proposals. Your ability to develop diverse design documents (power schematics, power calculations, etc.) and manage Bills of Materials will be crucial.
• Foster Strong Client Relationships: Build strong relationships with clients and partners, working collaboratively to understand their needs and deliver exceptional solutions. Excellent written and oral communication skills are essential, along with a solution-oriented mindset that translates customer interaction into documented specifications.
• Embrace Continuous Learning: Undergo comprehensive training at the company’s European training facility, further enhancing your expertise in the latest technologies and best practices.

Qualifications

• University degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Industrial Automation.
• 5-10 years of experience in electrical applications, with 3-5 years focused on data center design or similar large and complex projects.
• Proven experience in electrical design and documentation development.
• Hands-on experience with critical electrical equipment (UPS, batteries, busways, switchboards).
• Excellent written and oral communication skills for seamless collaboration across various teams.
• Strong English language proficiency (written and oral).
