Due to an internal promotion, our client, a global engineering organisation, is seeking a Field Service Manager to lead an established team of Field Service and Commissioning Engineers.
This is a non-hands-on management role requiring a practical engineering background and previous experience leading field-based engineering teams.
The Role
You will be responsible for the day-to-day leadership and coordination of engineering activities across service, maintenance, installation and commissioning projects throughout the UK and internationally.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and support a team of Field Service and Commissioning Engineers.
* Plan and allocate engineering resources across multiple projects and activities.
* Maintain operational oversight of service, installation, maintenance and commissioning work.
* Ensure engineers have the information, tools and support required to perform effectively.
* Remove operational barriers and support project delivery.
* Promote high standards of health, safety and compliance.
* Build effective relationships with customers, contractors and stakeholders.
* Drive team performance and continuous improvement.
About You
Essential Experience & Attributes
* Experience leading field-based engineering teams.
* Practical engineering background within mechanical, industrial or related environments.
* Previous progression from a hands-on engineering role into leadership or management.
* Strong planning, coordination and organisational skills.
* Strong health and safety awareness, including experience with RAMS and safe systems of work.
* Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office and business systems.
* Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
* Practical problem-solving and decision-making ability.
* Ability to manage competing priorities and work independently.
Desirable
* IOSH and/or NEBOSH qualification.
* Experience within water treatment, utilities, power generation, M&E, industrial engineering, large-scale installation projects or maintenance-led operations.
