The Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Field Service Technician to join an established commercial laundry equipment business during a period of growth and investment in its UK & Ireland service operation.
Working as part of a growing team of field-based technicians, you will be responsible for the installation, commissioning, servicing, maintenance and fault finding of complex industrial laundry and automated equipment at customer sites across the UK and Ireland.
The role would suit an experienced electrical or electro-mechanical engineer who enjoys working in the field and is comfortable diagnosing faults across electrical, controls, mechanical and automated systems.
Key Responsibilities
Installation and commissioning of commercial and industrial laundry equipment. Planned and reactive maintenance at customer sites. Electrical, electronic and mechanical fault finding. Diagnosing faults across control systems, PLCs, sensors, motors and automated equipment. Working on conveyors, automation and associated industrial machinery. Carrying out equipment modifications and repairs where required. Providing technical support to customers and resolving equipment issues efficiently. Completing service reports and relevant technical documentation. Supporting installation projects and ensuring equipment is commissioned correctly. Working closely with the wider service and installation team. Travelling extensively throughout the UK and Ireland, including occasional overnight stays. Participating in occasional weekend installation and service work.
About You
The company is open to candidates from a range of technical backgrounds and direct commercial laundry experience is not essential.
Relevant experience could include:
Field Service Engineering Industrial Automation PLC / Controls Engineering Electrical Engineering Conveyor Systems Automated Warehousing Pharmaceutical or dispensing equipment Industrial machinery Packaging machinery Electromechanical equipmentStrong electrical and controls experience is particularly attractive, alongside good mechanical fault-finding ability.
You will need to be comfortable working independently at customer sites, communicating professionally with customers and travelling throughout the UK and Ireland.
