We're recruiting an experienced Finance Administrator for an established supplier of heating, HVAC and renewable energy solutions based in Exeter.

This is an excellent opportunity for an organised and detail-oriented finance professional to support a busy finance and operations team, ensuring accurate financial records, efficient transaction processing and the smooth running of day-to-day financial administration.

The position would suit someone with experience in finance administration, accounts payable, accounts receivable or accounts assistance, ideally within an engineering, construction, distribution or technical environment.

The Role

Provide day-to-day administrative support to the finance department

Process supplier invoices, purchase invoices and credit notes

Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable activities

Reconcile supplier statements and investigate discrepancies

Support credit control and follow up outstanding customer payments

Process purchase orders and match invoices against orders and delivery records

Assist with bank reconciliations and payment processing

Maintain accurate financial records and update accounting systems

Support month-end procedures and financial reporting

Liaise with customers, suppliers and internal departments regarding financial queries

Maintain spreadsheets, databases and financial documentation

Assist with expenses, filing and general finance administration

Support the Finance Manager and wider team with additional tasks as required

The Candidate

Previous experience as a Finance Administrator, Accounts Assistant, Finance Assistant or Accounts Administrator

Experience processing invoices and maintaining financial records

Good understanding of accounts payable and accounts receivable

Experience with supplier reconciliations and credit control advantageous

Confident using Microsoft Office, particularly Excel

Experience using accounting software such as Sage, Xero or similar advantageous

Strong numerical skills and excellent attention to detail

Good written and verbal communication skills

Comfortable dealing with customers, suppliers and internal departments

Able to prioritise workloads and meet financial deadlines

Experience within HVAC, engineering, construction or distribution beneficial but not essential

Reliable, proactive and able to work independently

Available for a 6-month contract

Package

£28,000-£30,000 annual equivalent salary

The Opportunity

You'll play an important role in supporting the finance function, ensuring invoices are processed accurately, accounts are maintained and financial administration runs efficiently.

The position offers varied responsibilities across purchase ledger, sales ledger, reconciliations and general accounts administration, working closely with the finance and operational teams.
