Job Description - Finance & Office Manager

Your new company
Our client is recruiting for a Finance & Office Manager to join their team on a permanent basis. The hours of work are Monday-Friday, 8.30am - 4.30pm, and there is some flexibility offered on start and finish times. This is an office-based role and the organisation is currently based in the East End of Glasgow but will be relocating to Airdrie in the coming months. It is advisable that applicants have access to their own transport.

Your new role
Reporting to the Directors, you will take ownership of the finance and administration responsibilities. Your duties will include, but will not be limited to:

  • Invoicing
  • PO management
  • Purchase ledger
  • Sales ledger + billing
  • Month-end reporting
  • Allocations
  • Payroll (weekly and monthly for circa 15 employees)
  • Accurate financial record keeping, to ensure efficiency
  • Financial analysis
  • Cost control
  • Collation of information for accurate management account processing
  • Maintenance of the inhouse finance system (Xero-based package)
  • Working with the external accountants
  • General associated tasks allocated to you by directors


Moving forward, there may also be the opportunity to support with wider commercial tasks such as compliance, quality management and health and safety management. You will also oversee the work carried out by the office administrator and handle any escalated administrative issues.

What you'll need to succeed
You should have proven successful experience in a similarly varied financial & commercial position. It would be advantageous, although not essential, to have experience within the construction sector. You will be comfortable working with finance software, ideally Xero. You will be a team player with a collaborative attitude.
