Job Description - Finance and Operations Manager

Finance and Operations Manager | Bury | £35,000

Talentedge is supporting a charitable organisation in Bury town centre in adding a Finance and Operations Manager to join their team due to expansion.

You will work as part of the senior leadership team in making sound financial decisions that align with their values of collaboration, integrity and being proud of what they achieve.

You will manage their finance and grants teams, motivating and fostering good working relationships to support cross-team working in the design and planning of grants processes. You’ll also play a key role in their operational management, ensuring the smooth running of their Bury-based offices and a safe and welcoming base for their staff and tenants.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the finance and grants team, overseeing financial operations including invoicing, payments, payroll, expenses, pensions, and bank account management.
  • Manage financial systems and data, including the use of QuickBooks and internal controls to ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Prepare quarterly management accounts, budgets, and forecasts for the board and Senior Management Team.
  • Produce annual financial statements in line with the charity’s SORP and liaise with independent examiners.
  • Oversee relationships with grant holders and funders, ensuring effective reporting and grant delivery.
  • Work with the Chief Officer and SMT on annual budgeting, resource planning, and performance monitoring.
  • Oversee income generation through marketing and hiring out facilities.
  • Ensure compliance with all financial obligations, including contracts, grant agreements, and supplier value for money.

  • 33 days holiday including bank holidays
