Job Description - Finance Assistant

REED are exclusively recruiting a Finance Assistant / Accounts Manager for a Not for Profit Charity based in Bournemouth, working within a closely knit team, this role requires high proficiency using Sage 50.

This is an organisation who are proud of their community work and positive impact with opportunities to grow the provision.through various programs and initiatives.

Job Summary:

Finance Assistant / Accounts Manager

£28,000 - £30,000 per annum - Permanent role

Full Time: 9am - 5pm (One day WFH)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accounts Receivables and Accounts Payable using Sage Line 50
  • Working within a close knit team
  • Assist in the preparation of financial statements and reports.
  • Process invoices, payments, and receipts.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records.
  • Reconcile bank statements and manage petty cash.
  • Assist with budget preparation and monitoring.
  • Support the preparation of annual audits.
  • Liaise with suppliers, understanding funding streams and government grants.
  • Ensure compliance with charity financial regulations and best practices.
  • Provide administrative support to the finance team as needed.

Qualifications:

  • AAT qualification or equivalent experience in accounting.
  • Previous experience in a similar role, preferably within a charity or non-profit organization.
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (especially Sage) and MS Office, particularly Excel.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
