Finance Assistant

I am currently recruiting for a client based in South Liverpool area. My client is seeking a dedicated Finance Assistant to support their finance function. This role is ideal for someone with solid finance experience who thrives in a collaborative, values-driven environment and is looking to grow within a purpose-led organisation.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the development and management of the annual budget
• Monitor and report on income, expenditure, and cash flow
• Process financial transactions including purchase invoices, payroll support, and procurement tracking
• Ensure timely and accurate invoicing and manage credit control procedures
• Maintain financial records and assist in preparing monthly and quarterly financial reports
• Support the finance team with audit preparation and compliance tasks
• Assist in producing reports that track key performance indicators and support income generation planning
• Provide administrative support and contribute to improving financial processes

What is our client looking for?

• Previous experience in a finance or accounts assistant role
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
• Comfortable working with Excel and finance systems (e.g. Sage, Xero, SAP - experience in any of these is a plus)
• Ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines
• A proactive and collaborative attitude
• Studying towards AAT or other finance qualifications would be an advantage
