Job Description - Finance Assistant

Job Purpose: To support the finance team by maintaining accurate financial records, processing transactions, and assisting in the preparation of financial reports. The role plays a key part in ensuring the smooth running of the finance function.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist in day-to-day financial operations, including processing invoices, payments, and receipts
Maintain accurate purchase and sales ledger records
Bank reconciliations and managing petty cash
Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts
Support with VAT returns and other statutory reporting
Perform account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies
Assist with payroll processing and timesheet management
File and archive financial documents in accordance with company policy
Liaise with internal departments and external suppliers/customers as required
Provide general administrative support to the finance team

Person Specification:Essential Skills & Experience:

Previous experience in an accounts or finance role
Working knowledge of accounting software (e.g. Sage, QuickBooks, Xero)
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office applications
