Finance Assistant

WE Talent are hiring for an Assistant Management Accountant for our client in Colchester.

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Assistant Management Accountant to join a growing and fast-paced organisation based in Colchester. This is a full-time, office-based position supporting the finance function across a group of companies.

The ideal candidate will have strong management accounts experience and be comfortable working in a varied, hands-on role that spans reporting, payroll, project support, and day-to-day finance tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

• Preparing and assisting with monthly management accounts

• Completing and submitting VAT returns

• Managing payroll for all companies within the group

• Obtaining finance quotations for new asset purchases

• Supporting project work and producing detailed costings

• Generating and monitoring Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

• Handling banking and reconciliations

• Assisting with credit control processes as needed

• Carrying out ad hoc finance tasks to support the wider team

The Ideal Candidate:

• Has proven experience in a management accounts or similar finance role

• Is confident with VAT, payroll, and reconciliations

• Possesses excellent attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills

• Is proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting software

• Can work both independently and as part of a team

• Is organised, reliable, and keen to take ownership of their workload

What’s on Offer:

• Salary of £30,000 per annum

• Full-time, permanent role (Monday to Friday, 9am - 5:30pm)

• Office-based position - no hybrid working
