Job Description - Finance Assistant

Role: Finance & Administration Assistant

Location: Hinckley, Leicestershire (Office Based)

Hours: 37.30 hours per week on a flexible basis. Early finish on Fridays at 1:00pm.

Salary: £32,000 per annum

What will you be doing?

• Inputting sales orders and raising sales invoices.
• Raising purchase orders and processing purchase invoices.
• Inputting bank and credit card transactions and reconciling bank accounts.
• Processing employee expenses and preparing payment lists.
• Reviewing project costs and supporting financial reporting.
• Managing credit control activities and maintaining customer accounts.
• Building and maintaining strong relationships with suppliers and customers.
• Processing quarterly VAT returns and acting as the main point of contact for finance matters.
• Raising payment applications and supporting project administration.
• Organising travel arrangements and assisting with stock control.
• Managing stationery requirements and coordinating transportation of goods.
• Arranging supplier and customer assessments using PQQs.
• Providing administrative support to other departments.
• Answering and directing incoming telephone calls.

Experience/qualifications required:

• Minimum 5 years' experience in a finance role.
• Minimum 5 years' experience using Sage 50.
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
• Experience working autonomously and effectively managing workloads to meet deadlines.
• Good understanding of VAT processes and compliance requirements.
• Excellent verbal, written and listening skills.
• AAT Level 3 qualified, CIMA qualified, or Qualified by Experience (QBE).

Desirable:

• Experience using Sage Projects.
• Experience supporting tender processes.
• Previous experience working within an SME environment.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
