Finance Assistant

Borehamwood

Up to £32,000 pa DOE

Here at Every Step Recruitment, Finance & Accountancy, we are supporting a successful and growing business with their requirement for a Finance Assistant. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced finance professional looking to develop their career within a supportive and collaborative environment.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

Processing supplier invoices and assisting with payment runs

Preparing and issuing customer invoices

Supporting credit control activities and customer account management

Performing bank and account reconciliations

Processing employee expenses and payroll-related information

Maintaining accurate financial records within the accounting system

Assisting with month-end procedures and balance sheet reconciliations

Supporting VAT submissions and compliance activities

Producing financial reports and analysis as required

Assisting with fixed asset administration

Providing general support to the wider finance function

Contributing to process improvements and operational efficiencies

Skills and attributes required:

To be considered, you will ideally have:

Previous experience in a Finance Assistant, Accounts Assistant, Bookkeeper, or similar role

A sound understanding of accounting and bookkeeping principles

Experience within construction, engineering, manufacturing, or other project-based environments (preferred)

Knowledge of CIS processes

Strong Excel and general IT skills

Excellent attention to detail and accuracy

Good organisational and time management abilities

A proactive and positive approach to work

The ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines

Strong communication skills and a team-focused attitude
