We are recruiting for a Finance Assistant to join a growing organisation based in Bellshill. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced finance professional looking to join a supportive team, with the potential for the role to become permanent.

You will play a key role within the finance function, supporting across accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations and general finance administration, while ensuring financial records are accurate and up to date.

The Role

Process supplier invoices accurately and within agreed timescales
Match purchase orders against invoices
Liaise with suppliers to resolve invoice queries and discrepancies
Process sales invoices and customer payments
Manage the aged debt ledger and follow up outstanding payments
Monitor outstanding balances and highlight potential bad debts
Allocate cash receipts accurately to customer accounts
Complete regular bank reconciliations
Investigate and resolve reconciliation discrepancies
Maintain accurate and up to date financial records
Input financial transactions into the accounting system
Assist with the preparation of financial reports and statements
Provide wider administrative support to the finance team

What We Are Looking For

Previous experience within a Finance Assistant, Accounts Assistant or similar finance role
Experience across accounts payable and accounts receivable
Experience completing bank reconciliations
Previous exposure to payroll processing
Good understanding of basic accounting and financial principles
Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
Strong organisational and time management skills
Confident communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team
