We are currently recruiting for an experienced Finance Assistant to join the finance team of a well-established manufacturing business based in Hastings.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced finance professional to provide maternity cover and gain exposure to a broad range of financial accounting, reporting, budgeting and analysis activities. Working closely with the Financial Controller, you will play an important role in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting financial controls and contributing to the preparation of regular financial reporting.

Job type: Full-time, 12 Months fixed term contract Location: Hastings Salary: up to £30,000 - £35,000, DOE
Key Responsibilities
Managing receivables and payables control accounts Completing regular bank reconciliations Maintaining the fixed asset register and completing ledger reconciliations Processing and reviewing invoices to ensure accuracy and appropriate authorisation Supporting annual budgeting and financial planning Preparing weekly cash flow forecasts, inventory reports and sales analysis Assisting with month-end reporting including P&L, balance sheet and cash flow Supporting analysis of costs, pricing, sales performance and actuals against budget Identifying and supporting cost reduction opportunities Liaising with external auditors and supporting year-end processes Assisting with R&D tax credit preparation and related external liaison Ensuring financial systems and procedures remain compliant with current legislation Providing general support to the finance team and wider office when required Skills & Experience Required
Minimum 3 years' experience within a finance or accounting environment Experience across a broad range of finance functions Strong financial analysis skills Experience within a manufacturing environment would be beneficial AAT, ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualification would be advantageous, although candidates qualified through experience or currently studying will be considered Strong attention to detail and accuracy Excellent organisational and time management skills Ability to manage competing priorities and meet weekly and monthly deadlines Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively at all levels Proactive, logical and methodical approach to work Good understanding of financial controls and regulatory requirements Ability to work effectively under pressure How to Apply If you're an experienced finance professional looking for a varied role where you can use your accounting and analytical skills within an established manufacturing environment, we'd love to hear from you!
