Job Description - Finance Assistant

Are you a detail-oriented finance professional with a passion for numbers and a knack for problem-solving? Our client, a leading player in the nutrition sector is seeking a motivated and skilled Finance Assistant to join their dynamic team. This fully remote role (UK based applicants only accepted) offers the flexibility to work from home while contributing to a vibrant and collaborative virtual environment. Key Responsibilities:

Accounts Management:

Posting cash receipts, money transfers, supplier, and ad hoc payments to SAP.
Reconciling supplier accounts to statements and processing employee expenses.
Handling monthly company expense claims and credit card reconciliations.
Conducting internal reconciliations of P&L accounts and month-end ledger close.
Generating weekly SAP reports, bank downloads, balance checks, and cashflow forecasting.
Preparing weekly payment runs and handling foreign currency payments.
Addressing customer and supplier queries via email or phone.

Service Procurement & Purchase Orders:

Managing purchase ordering processes, obtaining approvals, and raising orders.
Processing incoming purchase invoices and liaising with external service providers.
Ensuring adherence to internal service procurement processes and electronic filing.

Creditors Ledger & Payroll:

Compiling and posting monthly prepayments, accruals, and journals.
Conducting monthly bank reconciliations and processing VAT submissions.
Supporting payroll queries and ensuring compliance with HMRC requirements.

Process Control & Administration:

Assisting with finance process controls and creating company forms.
Identifying cost-saving opportunities and providing admin assistance as needed.
Booking hotels and accommodation for team members when required.

Requirements and Skills:

Degree or diploma in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or equivalent work experience.
Previous experience as a Finance Assistant, Finance Officer, or similar role.
Strong knowledge of accounting and bookkeeping procedures.
Advanced skills in MS Excel and familiarity with accounting software (e.g., SAP).
Excellent organisational and time-management abilities.
High attention to detail and capability to identify numerical errors.
Proactive, hands-on approach with a positive, can-do attitude.
Proficiency in Microsoft 365 and TEAMS.
