Job Description - Finance Assistant

Solirius Consulting delivers technical consultancy and application delivery to our clients in order to solve real world problems and allow our clients to respond to an ever-changing technical landscape. We currently have over 250 consultants working with a variety of key clients from both the public and private sectors such as the Ministry of Justice, Department for Education, FCDOS, UEFA, International Olympic Committee and Mercedes Benz; with plans to increase our client base further in the near future.

The Role:  

This exciting opportunity involves managing key financial processes, including revenue apportionment, invoicing, and comprehensive financial reporting. You'll support carbon emissions calculations, administer company health insurance, and respond to employee queries regarding pensions and pay. The role also involves enhancing internal systems, collaborating with the Operations team on supplier contracts, and providing crucial support to the Finance Manager and team. This position offers significant growth potential within a growing and innovative organisation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Apportioning revenue for year end accounts
  • Raising invoices, credit notes, expenses and bills in accounting system as required
  • Provide expenses reporting to support carbon emissions calculations
  • Producing weekly invoice status reports covering overdue invoices and un-invoiced work
  • Producing monthly employee utilisation reports for account managers
  • Producing to monthly revenue performance reports against revenue targets
  • Producing quarterly invoice reports for quarterly accounts
  • Producing quarterly VAT report
  • Work with Operations team to check and sign supplier contracts
  • Administer company health insurance policy
  • Respond to employee pension and pay queries
  • Contribute to internal systems and processes improvement project
  • Support Finance Manager and team members with ad-hoc queries as required
  • Monthly excel data reporting

Key Skills/Experience:

Candidates should have a strong academic background and be able to demonstrate that they have the following personal skills:

  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Motivated, enthusiastic and committed
  • Excellent communicators, both written and verbal, with an ability to successfully engage with team members, clients and stakeholders
  • Strong numeracy skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Self starter

Specialist skills/Qualifications required:

  • A background in financial processes and / or financial administration is essential.
  • A good understanding of Microsoft Excel / Google Spreadsheets
  • Qualification in Accounting or working towards being fully qualified, such as ACCA
