Finance Business Partner

Harper May is partnering with a growing consulting firm that is seeking a commercially focused Finance Business Partner to join its finance team. With an expanding client base and a strong focus on delivering strategic value, the firm is looking for a finance professional who can drive insight, improve performance, and support decision-making across the business.

Role Overview:
As Finance Business Partner, you will work closely with senior stakeholders across multiple service lines to provide clear financial analysis and strategic input. This role is ideal for a proactive, commercially minded finance professional who enjoys working with non-finance teams to improve business outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Partner with consulting and operational teams to provide financial guidance on performance, resource planning, and profitability

• Deliver accurate and timely management reporting, including variance analysis and commentary

• Support budgeting and forecasting cycles, ensuring alignment with business strategy

• Develop and present financial models to inform pricing, pipeline planning, and investment decisions

• Identify opportunities for margin improvement, cost control, and process optimisation

• Support project-level financial tracking, reporting, and commercial risk analysis

• Act as a trusted advisor to business leads, helping to drive accountability and performance metrics

• Contribute to the ongoing improvement of internal reporting and business partnering frameworks

Key Requirements:

• ACA / ACCA / CIMA qualified or finalist

• Previous experience in a finance business partnering or commercial finance role, ideally within professional services or consulting

• Strong analytical and Excel skills, with the ability to simplify complex financial data for non-finance stakeholders

• Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities

• A proactive, commercially focused mindset and a willingness to challenge assumptions constructively

• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
