The Client

Harmonic are excited to be representing one of the UK's leading investment funds, managing assets of around £45 billion. The fund plays a critical role in securing the financial futures of its members, making long-term, value-focused decisions across asset classes.

The Role

Reporting to the Senior Finance Business Partner, this role sits within the Investment Segment team based in London. You'll partner closely with senior stakeholders across investment management desks, focusing on providing financial analysis, forecasting, budgeting, and insightful reporting specifically focussed on cost.

This role offers an excellent stepping stone for someone who's looking to step into Financial Services or make that first move into the FP&A function. This newly created role offers clear progression in the next 18-24 months.

Responsibilities:

• Supporting strategic planning, including budgeting, regular forecasting, and variance analysis.
• Preparation and analysis of monthly management accounts, handling accruals, prepayments and preparing journals.
• Producing insightful financial commentary and presentations for senior stakeholders, committees, and boards.
• Supporting review and challenge of business cases, modelling financial impacts, and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
• Building strong relationships with senior stakeholders (Heads of Investment Desks, COO, and management teams), acting as a "critical friend."
• Engaging proactively in continuous improvement initiatives, enhancing financial processes and systems.

Required Experience:

• Newly Qualified accountant or PQE up to 3 years (ideally CIMA; ACA/ACCA also considered)
• Experience with month-end processes (accruals, prepayments)
• Strong analytical and Excel modelling skills
• Proven ability in financial analysis, forecasting, and business partnering
• Excellent interpersonal skills, comfortable influencing senior stakeholders
• Proactive, curious mindset with hunger for personal and professional growth

Desired Experience:

• Experience within Financial Services, Asset Management, or Insurance
• Familiarity with Power BI and financial forecasting tools
• Understanding of financial products or investment concepts

Salary: Up to £75,000 + Excellent Pension & Benefits

Location: London, with hybrid working (3 days office / 2 days WFH average)

Start Date: ASAP, ideally within 1-3 months
