Job Description - Finance Co-ordinator

Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Finance Coordinator to join our dynamic finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing financial processes, ensuring accurate reporting, and supporting the overall financial health of the organisation. This role requires strong analytical skills and the ability to work collaboratively across departments to achieve financial objectives.

Duties

  • Calculating deposit payments against supplier order summary
  • Updating and reconciling deposit prepayment sheets and software system (SAP)
  • Month end reconciliation of Prepayments and Stock In Transit accounts on SAP with control sheets, identify and resolve discrepancies
  • Previous knowledge of working with foreign exchange contracts
  • Reconciling shipping documents to finalise supplier balance payment
  • Calculating proposed duty amounts on containers from supplier shipping documents
  • Investigating month end Gross Profit reductions on SAP
  • Invoice / delivery note reconciliation and approving
  • Knowledge of OPR desirable, maintaining and updating spreadsheet
  • Understanding of annual Audit requirements for supplier prepayments and stock in transit
  • Managing various building and equipment facilities, including updating utility readings and ensuring various compliance with health & safety, first aid and fire, plant and equipment maintenance/certification.
  • Prepare month-end management account figures for the board
  • Credit control support for sales ledger, including updating credit account notes
  • Reconcile bank accounts: cash, Paypal, Stripe, and current accounts
  • Manage weekly payment runs adhering to strict terms
  • Finalise Year End accounts and support Auditors
  • Submit quarterly VAT returns to HMRC
  • Reconciling supplier invoices from suppliers

Skills

  • Strong analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, for effective collaboration across teams.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of accounting principles and practices is advantageous but not essential.
