This position is ideal for someone with solid experience in project-based finance who is looking to step into a broader commercial-facing role.
You’ll support large, cross-border energy projects often worth hundreds of millions, working closely with senior leadership on structuring, modelling, and financing, particularly involving non-recourse and tax lease arrangements.
The company you’ll join is a long-established global player in the energy transport. This is a key growth role based in their London office.
You’ll collaborate day-to-day with commercial and legal teams, support due diligence, and contribute to decisions that shape project delivery.
There’s a strong focus on ensuring robust internal controls and financial processes, but this is far from a back-office role. You’ll be actively engaged across the business, with exposure to banks, JV partners, and external stakeholders.
This is a rare opportunity to grow into a leadership position. You’ll join at Deputy GM level, but with a clear path for future growth to Director level, backed by hands-on support.
You’ll also need to be comfortable operating in a culturally nuanced, multinational environment. Diplomacy, respect, and relationship-building are just as important as technical skills.
You’ll have:
- A background in maritime, shipping, or energy finance, with solid exposure to complex transactions.
- Proven experience in financial modelling, structuring, and project-based funding.
- The ability to work across legal, commercial, and financial stakeholders with confidence.
- A mindset for learning - especially around new systems, deal documentation, and international frameworks.
- A calm, communicative style that works well in cross-cultural environments.
This is a role with substance, visibility, and long-term potential.
A perfect opportunity if you are ready to grow into a senior leadership position with hands-on with the work that really matters.
