Finance Director

Reed Finance are recruiting for a UK Finance Director on behalf of our client, a highly successful SME with international presence. This role will play a crucial part in maintaining the financial health of the organisation through diligent management, financial reporting and compliance, whilst overseeing daily financial operations and leading on strategic financial planning.

Day-to-day of the role:

• Financial Reporting & Compliance:
  • Oversee the preparation and accuracy of financial statements in compliance with GAAP.
  • Manage the financial close process to meet strict deadlines.
  • Review journal entries, balance sheet reserves, and accruals to maintain financial integrity.
  • Collaborate with international accounting and FP&A teams to enhance financial reporting processes.
• Cash & Debt Management:
  • Manage daily cash flow and borrowing strategies to optimise liquidity and financial stability.
  • Oversee debt forecasting to support strategic financial planning.
• Audit & Tax Compliance:
  • Lead year-end audit preparations and collaborate with external auditors.
  • Ensure compliance with tax regulations and oversee timely tax filings.
• Strategic Leadership & Collaboration:
  • Supervise and mentor finance team members, fostering career development.
  • Work closely with senior leaders to drive financial strategies and improvements.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Proven experience in a financial leadership role
• Strong knowledge of financial reporting, GAAP, audit and UK tax regulations.
• Strategic thinker with excellent problem-solving capabilities.
• Exceptional leadership skills with experience in mentoring and developing teams.
• Excellent communication skills, capable of engaging with senior management and external stakeholders.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
