Finance Director

Chilworth Partnership are seeking a dynamic and technically astute Finance Director to join a growing SME based in Manchester, with an expectation to be in the office 2 days a week. This is a pivotal, hands-on role where you will be responsible for managing the end-to-end finance function while acting as a key strategic partner to the leadership team. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual to, potentially, be stepping up into their first Finance Director role.

Reporting to the Managing Director, responsibilities will include:

• Oversee all aspects of the finance function including management accounts, statutory reporting, payroll, cash flow, budgeting, and forecasting.
• Manage cash flow and working capital, ensuring the business is financially robust.
• Drive improvements in financial processes, systems, and controls.
• Produce timely and accurate financial reports and analysis to support decision-making.
• Work closely with the leadership team on business strategy, growth plans, and investment decisions.
• Lead the annual budgeting process and provide regular forecasting updates.
• Provide commercial insight and challenge to business performance, pricing, and margin analysis.
• Ensure compliance with all financial regulations and tax obligations.
• Manage and mentor a small finance team.

• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
• Strong technical accounting knowledge with the ability to manage all financial processes end-to-end.
• Experience of owning the annual budgeting and forecasting process.
• Hands-on and comfortable working in a lean environment.
• Experience in a product based environment.
• Excellent communication skills, with ability to influence and challenge exec level stakeholders.
• Strong Excel skills.
• Proactive, detail-oriented, and able to work independently and under pressure.
