Finance Director

As Finance Director, you will be a key member of the senior leadership team, responsible for shaping and executing the financial strategy of the business. You will lead all aspects of financial planning, reporting, and control, while supporting commercial decision-making and driving performance across the organisation.

Description

- Lead the finance function, ensuring robust financial controls, compliance, and reporting

- Partner with the MD and Group CEO to develop and deliver strategic plans

- Provide commercial insight and financial analysis to support business growth

- Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning

- Manage relationships with auditors, banks, and external stakeholders

- Drive continuous improvement in financial systems, processes, and reporting

- Support M&A activity and integration where applicable

- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing finance team

- Monitor and manage working capital, cash flow, and investment planning

- Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting to group and external stakeholders

- Evaluate capital expenditure proposals and support ROI analysis

- Collaborate with operations and supply chain teams to optimise cost efficiency

- Champion digital finance transformation and ERP system enhancements

- Ensure compliance with tax, legal, and regulatory requirements

- Contribute to ESG and sustainability reporting initiatives where relevant

Profile

A successful Finance Director applicant for this role should have:

- ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualified with significant post-qualification experience

- Proven track record in a senior finance leadership role, ideally as a Finance Director within manufacturing or engineering sectors

- Strong commercial acumen and strategic thinking

- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills

- Experience working within a group or multinational structure is advantageous

Job Offer

Competitive base salary of £120,000 - £130,000
