The Opportunity

Collingwood Search is proud to be the retained partner for a national market leading manufacturer of construction products. With over 20 years of UK presence and recent successful mergers, the business is now part of a European group with revenues exceeding £100 million.

Following the planned retirement of the current Finance Director, this is a rare opportunity to join a high performing leadership team at a time of transformation and growth. The business is on a mission to double in size over the next five years through strategic acquisitions and organic expansion.

Role Overview

As Finance Director, you will report to the UK Managing Director and work closely with the Group CFO. You’ll play a key role in shaping the financial future of the business, driving performance, and enabling further growth.

Key Responsibilities:

• Act as a strategic partner to the MD and Board, contributing to UK and Group level growth strategies
• Lead financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and performance analysis
• Oversee ERP implementation and digitisation of financial processes
• Manage and develop a high performing finance team of six
• Ensure robust financial controls, statutory compliance, and effective cash and tax management
• Provide financial insight to support decision making across the business
• Maintain strong relationships with Group finance stakeholders
• Support HR, ESG, internal audit, and payroll functions

Candidate Profile

We’re looking for a commercially astute, strategic finance leader who brings:

• A recognised accountancy qualification (ACA preferred; ACMA/ACCA considered)
• Experience in a manufacturing environment, ideally within an SME
• Strong ERP and stock management expertise (Sage and Business Central/Dynamics preferred)
• High emotional intelligence, integrity, and a proactive mindset
• A collaborative leadership style with the confidence to influence at Board level
• A track record of driving performance through KPIs and financial insight
• Experience managing change and leading high performing teams
