Location: Central London

Salary: £125,000 – £150,000 + Competitive Package

As Financial Director, you’ll be the financial compass of the organisation—steering strategy, strengthening controls, and enabling growth. Reporting directly to the Managing Director, you’ll lead a high-performing finance team and collaborate across trading, logistics, and corporate functions to drive commercial success.

Strategic Leadership

• Design and execute financial strategies aligned with business growth.
• Lead financial planning, forecasting, and liquidity management.
• Advise senior leadership on accounting standards and regulatory impacts.

Financial Reporting & Control

• Deliver accurate and timely P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow reporting.
• Oversee statutory reporting and manage relationships with auditors and tax advisors.
• Build robust internal controls and forecasting tools.

Risk & Compliance

• Identify and mitigate financial and operational risks.
• Enhance cash flow forecasting and ensure compliance with accounting standards.
• Implement hedge accounting practices tailored to commodity trading.

Team & Stakeholder Leadership

• Inspire and develop a high-performing finance team.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to optimise financial performance.
• Represent the company with external stakeholders and regulatory bodies.

• Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with a strong academic background.
• Proven experience in soft commodities trading or a similar environment.
• Expertise in hedge accounting and financial risk management.
• Proficiency in financial systems and tools (Power BI a plus).
• Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Track record of delivering strategic, cross-functional projects in fast-paced settings.
