Finance Manager

My client is seeking a Finance Manager for an international contracting and manufacturing company, a subsidiary of a parent company listed on the Japanese stock exchange. This role is pivotal in providing leadership and direction to all financial systems, transactions, and information. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the UK Finance team and ensuring compliance with both local and international financial regulations.

• Ensure safety is a priority through safe practices and adherence to all safety guidelines.
• Oversee the planning, directing, recording, and reporting of all financial transactions.
• Coordinate and present month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing reports for both division and group.
• Prepare budgets, forecasts, and financial models in collaboration with senior business unit directors and managers.
• Implement controls and systems to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with company and group policies, J-SOX, and other regular group reporting requirements.
• Enhance financial reporting and forecasting, improve business efficiencies, and facilitate better access to business information.
• Review financial performance of the business and projects, analysing profit risks and opportunities.
• Make appropriate financial provisions for all potential exposures and manage cash flows to enable continual funding of large projects while managing working capital.
• Coordinate with the group treasury function as applicable.
• Lead and manage the UK Finance staff, responsible for hiring, evaluation, training, guidance, disciplinary procedures, and dismissals.

• Demonstrable experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
• Significant experience in management and financial accounting, cash flow management, and foreign exchange and currency management.
• Proficiency in business systems and specific knowledge of long-term contract accounting.
• Awareness of financial regulatory changes affecting business processes (UK and overseas).
• Qualified to at least a second-class Bachelor’s degree in a technical or numerate discipline.
• Chartered Accountant – through ACCA, CIMA, or ICAEW.
