Finance Manager

I am currently partnering with one of our longstanding Law Firm clients on the recruitment of a Finance Manager position. This is a fixed term contract covering a period of maternity leave.

Key responsibilities:

· Reporting: Prepare and deliver monthly management accounts, inclusive of written commentary and various supporting schedules, in strict adherence to the agreed timetable.

· Planning and Budgeting: Assess budget drivers and assumptions in collaboration with fee-earning and Business Service teams. Formulate consolidated plans and annual budgets for the firm. Ensure the maintenance of budgets and KPI targets within financial systems, and compute updated profit forecasts in anticipation of each year-end.

· Overheads: Furnish Business Services Directors with regular expenditure reports and detailed analysis to facilitate the effective management of their financial and contractual obligations.

· Commercial Analysis: Provide Departmental and Practice Area Managers with comprehensive analysis of their teams' financial performance. Supply pertinent information to support business planning, periodic promotions, and the achievement of profitable and sustainable growth.

· Pricing and Pitch Planning: Advise Partners and the BD team on pricing and pitch planning for significant new matter proposals. Oversee the annual review of hourly rates, maintain both standard and client-specific rate tables, and conduct analysis of trends and client profitability to optimize income.

Key requirements:

• Qualified accountant/ Part qualified(ACA/CIMA/ACCA)
• Experience of working in professional services, particularly legal industry .
• Confident in using MS Office tools, particularly Excel but beneficial to be conversant with Powerpoint, Word and PowerBI.
