Job Description - Finance Manager

Finance Manager

Salford - Up to £55,000 DOE

Office-based.

I'm delighted to be partnered with a company based on the outskirts of Manchester as they seek to appoint a Finance Manager. Working directly under an established Head of Finance, this is a fantastic opportunity for a qualified finance professional or somebody very much QBE to join a great team.

As Finance Manager, you will be overseeing a small team and be responsible for their development, day-to-day duties etc.

The Finance Manager will play a key role in managing and optimising financial processes within the organisation. This role will be responsible for overseeing the Month End process, financial planning and analysis, budget management & financial reporting. The successful candidate will contribute to the overall financial health of the company and support strategic decision-making.

Key duties:

  • Develop, implement, and maintain financial models for budgeting and forecasting.
  • Analyse financial data and provide insights to support business decisions.
  • Monitor and report on key financial performance indicators.
  • Collaborate with department heads to develop annual budgets.
  • Track budget variances and provide recommendations for cost control.
  • Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting to senior management.
  • Oversee the day-to-day finance department functions.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulations.
  • Coordinate with the Shared Service Centre for - year-end audit & Month End Management Accounts

About you:

  • Part-qualified or newly qualified accountant through ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent.
  • 3+ years' experience in a similar finance role, previous role in a logistics or transportation industry beneficial.
  • Strong knowledge of month end processes, financial planning, budgeting, and analysis.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in financial software and Microsoft Excel, previous experience in SAP beneficial.

This will initially be an office-based role with the option of some hybrid working following successful induction period.
