Finance Manager

Accountable Recruitment are partnering with a dynamic business based in Chester to recruit an ACA or ACCA qualified accountant to join their finance team. Responsibilities Include:

• Prepare comprehensive monthly financial reporting packs, including detailed analysis and commentary on the Profit & Loss Statement, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow.
• Monitor and report on capital expenditure, ensuring adherence to budgets and control frameworks.
• Drive continuous improvement in financial processes, procedures, and internal controls, including the maintenance and documentation of internal control frameworks.
• Oversee the preparation, review, and timely resolution of Balance Sheet reconciliation.
• Prepare consolidated Group and individual statutory financial statements.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for external auditors, managing all aspects of the half-year and year-end audit process.
• Monitor developments in accounting standards, preparing technical position papers to support proposed accounting treatments.
• Maintain and enhance detailed short- and long-term cash flow forecasts, aligned with quarterly reforecasting processes.
• Report on cash positions, recommend and implement mitigating actions, and oversee loan drawdowns, repayments, and compliance with banking covenants.
• Prepare and review corporate and deferred tax calculations for inclusion in statutory accounts.
• Ensure accurate and timely submission of corporate tax and VAT filings and payments.
• Strengthen internal tax capabilities by developing training materials and conducting in-house training sessions.

Skills Required:

• ACA or ACCA qualified with 2-4 years post qual experience.
• Audit trained ideally within a top 10 firm.
• Strong technical accounting and financial reporting experience.
