Finance Manager

A privately owned manufacturing business with a turnover of c.£25m is looking to appoint a Finance Manager / Financial Controller to lead its finance function and play a key role in the senior leadership team.

This is a hands-on role combining day-to-day financial management with strategic input and would suit a qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA) looking to step into a No.1 finance role within a dynamic SME environment.

Key responsibilities include

• Overseeing all aspects of financial reporting, month-end close, and statutory compliance.
• Ownership of budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management.
• Leading and developing a small accounts team.
• Managing credit risk, credit insurance and banking relationships.
• Preparing management accounts and presenting financial insights to support decision-making.
• Conducting internal audits and coordinating external audits.
• Supporting systems improvement and process efficiency projects.
• Collaborating with non-finance teams to improve financial understanding across the business.

Candidate profile

• Qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA) with 1–3 years PQE.
• Strong Excel and modelling skills.
• Confident communicator able to partner effectively with senior stakeholders.
• Previous experience in a manufacturing or product-based environment
• Comfortable working in a hands-on, SME setting
• Proven ability to lead and develop a small finance team

Salary: £55,000 - £65,000
