Industry: Construction Services
Reporting to: Chief Financial Officer (CFO)

About the Company

Join a dynamic and forward-thinking construction services group that is undergoing an exciting transformation. The company is investing in modernising its finance function to support sustainable growth, operational efficiency, and strategic decision-making. With a collaborative culture and a people-first leadership team, this is a place where innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement are valued.

The Role

As Finance Manager, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of the finance function. You’ll lead process improvements, drive automation, and strengthen financial controls, ensuring the business operates with agility and precision. This is a high-impact role with visibility across senior leadership and central services, offering the opportunity to influence how finance supports the wider organisation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process Improvement
  • Redesign and optimise core finance processes (e.g., project cost tracking, supplier payments, month-end close).
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives using lean principles and industry best practices.
  • Automation & Systems
  • Identify and implement automation opportunities across reporting tools and Excel-based workflows.
  • Configure dashboards, macros, and liaise with IT and vendors on system upgrades and integrations.
  • Financial Controls
  • Develop and enforce robust internal control frameworks.
  • Monitor compliance, conduct control testing, and lead remediation efforts.
  • Reporting & Analysis
  • Produce insightful management reports on project profitability, cash flow, and variance analysis.
  • Provide strategic advice to leadership on cost drivers, bottlenecks, and control gaps.
  • Collaboration & Leadership
  • Partner with Finance, IT, HR, and other central services to align on data integrity, system enhancements, and process standardisation.
  • Act as a connector between teams to ensure financial planning and forecasting support better decision-making.

Profile:

  • We’re looking for a proactive and commercially astute finance professional who is ready to step into a leadership role:
  • Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with ideally 3+ years post-qualification experience.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and Power BI, with the ability to present clear financial narratives.
  • Strong background in management accounts, KPI reporting, and financial control.
  • Detail-oriented, emotionally intelligent, and collaborative.
  • Ambitious and ready to grow into a future Financial Controller.

Why Join?

  • Be part of a high-growth business at a transformative stage.
  • Work flexibly with the support of a progressive, people-first CFO.
  • Influence the development of a modern, connected finance function.
  • Make a tangible impact on how finance supports strategic and operational success.
