The Role

As Finance Manager, you will play a key role in managing the day-to-day financial activities of the business, ensuring accurate financial records, supporting decision-making and maintaining effective financial controls.

Key responsibilities include:

* Managing day-to-day bookkeeping and financial administration

* Overseeing accounts payable and accounts receivable

* Processing invoices, supplier payments and reconciliations

* Monitoring cash flow, forecasting and financial planning

* Preparing monthly financial reports and supporting management accounts

* Managing company expenses and financial records

* Assisting with VAT returns and maintaining compliance

* Liaising with external accountants, suppliers and stakeholders

* Supporting payroll administration when required

* Identifying opportunities to improve financial processes and controls

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

* Previous experience in a Finance Manager, Accounts Manager, Bookkeeper or similar finance position

* Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial processes

* Experience with accounting software, including Sage or similar systems

* Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail

* Strong communication and problem-solving abilities

* The ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines

* A proactive approach and confidence working independently

* High levels of professionalism and discretion when handling confidential information

Desirable

* AAT qualification or equivalent accounting experience

* Experience preparing management accounts and financial reporting

* Knowledge of cash flow forecasting and budget management

* Experience working within an SME environment
