Job Description - Finance Manager - Barnsley

Minova – Finance Manager – Barnsley

Elevation Senior Finance are delighted to be the retained recruitment partner to Minova International as they look to recruit a Finance Manager for Platipus Anchors, a recently acquired addition to their Group.

Minova is an international market leader in the design and manufacture of ground support solutions for mining and infrastructure sites. With a heritage dating back more than 140 years, they now manufacture from 5 international sites, and the acquisition of Platipus, a business that specialises in earth anchoring systems, is an example of how the business continues to go from strength to strength.

Based in Barnsley, and with the benefit of hybrid working, this Finance Manager role will report to the Finance Lead for Minova UK & Nordics. It is an exciting job opportunity as you will have full responsibility for managing the finance function for Platipus Anchors UK and you will also have oversight of the US function.

It will be a hands-on role where initially you will support the integration of Platipus into the Minova business, and moving forward you will be responsible for all financial reporting for the business including month-end accounts preparation and analysis as well as year-end reporting.

Responsibilities will include:

- Preparation of monthly management accounts including analysis of variances
- Year-end reporting statutory reporting under IFRS
- Support the budgeting process
- Weekly cash flow forecasting
- Chasing overdue debt and weekly debtors reporting
- Preparing weekly payment run and approving payments on the bank
- Quarterly VAT return
- Monthly HR report & pension upload
- Yearly P11D’s
- Support annual external audit
- Processing group recharge invoices
- Review of banking / AR and AP ledgers
- Balance sheet reconciliations
- Payroll payments / journals and liaising with external payroll companies
- Any other ad hoc requests from group or other departments within the business
- Expenses and credit card management
- Vehicle lease tracking and approvals

Key skills / qualifications:

- ACA, CIMA, ACCA Qualified or Qualified by experience
- Advanced knowledge of MS Excel
- Experience of Business Central / Sage preferred
- Strong financial reporting experience
