Finance Manager – Belfast

Permanent | Full-time | Office-based | £60,000 - £65,000 per annum

Reed Finance are delighted to be partnered with a fantastic client in Belfast in the appointment of a Finance Manager to join their team.

Reporting to the Group Finance Manager, the successful Finance Manager will oversee the finance department's operations of the company. This role requires an innovative leader who can drive process improvements and implement change to enhance efficiency and effectiveness. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in change management, exceptional analytical skills and a proven track record of success in managing finance functions.

Key responsibilities include:

Team & Operational Leadership

  • Lead and develop a team of finance professionals, fostering a culture of engagement and accountability.
  • Oversee financial operations including month-end close, statutory reporting, VAT submissions, and compliance.
  • Act as a key liaison for internal stakeholders and external auditors.

Financial Reporting & Compliance

  • Manage monthly and year-end reporting cycles, ensuring accuracy and alignment with group requirements.
  • Review balance sheet reconciliations and support budgeting and forecasting processes.
  • Ensure adherence to financial regulations and internal policies.

Process & Systems Improvement

  • Identify and implement process enhancements to improve efficiency and accuracy.
  • Champion automation and technology adoption across finance workflows.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to integrate financial systems and reporting tools.

Change & Integration

  • Lead finance transformation initiatives, including system upgrades and process integration.
  • Support the onboarding of newly acquired entities, ensuring seamless financial operations.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders to drive adoption and alignment.

What you need to succeed:

  • Qualified accountant with minimum of 2 years of experience in a finance leadership role.
  • Strong leadership and team-building capabilities, with a focus on fostering a collaborative and high-performing work environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify issues and develop effective solutions.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, Outlook etc) and ERP systems, with experience optimizing these tools.
