Job Description - Finance Manager - Children's

Join a collaborative and inclusive finance team environment focused on learning and developing while delivering the best possible service to the community.

Salary range of £60,819 - £67,810
Hybrid working of 1-2 days in the office per week.

Barnet is the second largest borough by population in London, home to over 389,000 people, 26,000 businesses, and 1,000 charities. They are proud of diverse communities and of being a place where people feel welcomed and celebrated.

Team Barnet is an ethos at the council, which brings together all of their values, and represents teamwork, helping colleagues and residents regardless of their role they do. This has created an environment where you can learn outside of your role and develop while delivering the best possible service to the community.
To help support the growth of this team, we are delighted to be working with Barnet Council in their search for five Finance Managers across a variety of areas.

A diverse and varied Finance Manager opportunity has arisen on a permanent basis to support the Children's Services Directorate - specifically, you will work across the children's social care function.

As a Finance Manager, you will be expected to be a professional lead within your area of finance, providing expertise and high-quality financial services to senior stakeholders, proactively contributing to the achievement of the finance service’s vision, and contributing towards an innovative, high-performance, and continuous improvement culture.
Your key accountability will cover Finance Business Partnering with key stakeholders across all levels up to the Children's Social Care Director, monitoring forecast against budget in collaboration with the service. You will be expected to model various scenarios to provide affordable service to best meet the required needs. Your role will include MTFS and financial planning to manage funding/cost pressures related to the complexity of the directorate.

To be successful in this role, you will be fully CCAB qualified with substantial business partnering experience within a relevant social care organisation or education. It is vital that you can demonstrate a passion and interest in the sector with transferable, relevant knowledge and skills.

You will naturally be a proactive personality who can take initiative and enjoys problem-solving.

To apply for this opportunity, please submit your CV with a supporting statement by Tuesday 27th May.

For more information about the role, please contact Will Thomson at Ivy Rock Partners.
