Finance Manager, Portfolio Management

As a Finance Manager within our Capital Investment Portfolio team, you’ll ensure that every pound we invest delivers maximum value for passengers, airlines, and the wider business. This role is central to Heathrow’s strategy of sustainable growth and operational excellence, helping us make informed decisions on projects that transform the airport experience.

You’ll work closely with senior stakeholders across Finance, Operations, and Programme Delivery to provide financial insight and governance on multi-million-pound capital projects. Your expertise will help prioritise investments, manage risk, and ensure compliance with regulatory and commercial requirements. Success in this role means enabling Heathrow to deliver world-class infrastructure while maintaining financial discipline and long-term resilience. 

• Partnering with project and programme teams to provide financial leadership on capital investment decisions.  
• Developing robust business cases and investment appraisals to support strategic decision-making.  
• Monitoring financial performance of the capital portfolio, identifying risks and opportunities, and recommending corrective actions.  
• Ensuring compliance with governance frameworks, regulatory obligations, and internal controls.  
• Presenting clear, insightful analysis to senior stakeholders to influence investment priorities and outcomes.  

• Professional finance qualification (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA) or equivalent experience.  
• Proven experience in capital investment, project finance, or portfolio management.  
• Strong analytical and financial modelling skills with attention to detail.  
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.  
• Ability to interpret complex data and present clear recommendations.  

Ideally, you'll also have:

• Experience in regulated industries or large infrastructure projects.  
• Knowledge of investment appraisal techniques and risk management frameworks.  
• Familiarity with governance processes in a complex organisational environment.
