The Role

Reporting to Fractional CFOs and Finance Directors, the Senior Accountant will support a portfolio of 8+ clients, overseeing their month-end close and reporting processes. Key responsibilities include serving as point-of-contact for clients, managing the month end and management accounts process (with the support of a larger team of junior accountants) and providing strategic and operational insight in regard to the growth of the business.

You'll also have the opportunity to line-manage 2 junior accountants, gaining valuable leadership experience. No previous management experience required, just the eagerness to mentor!

This role is ideal for a newly qualified accountant looking to fast-track their career by working across multiple finance functions (supporting exciting, scaling businesses in tech and SaaS). Strong communication skills, the ability to manage multiple clients, and a curious, ambitious mindset are essential.

Clear pathways to progression-including to Finance Director-are available, supported by ongoing training and development.

Responsibilities

• Manage 2 junior team members - provide coaching, collaboration, and day-to-day problem-solving
• Set up and manage finance systems for new clients, ensuring data is well-organized and fit for reporting
• Create and review regular close activities and working papers, including reconciliations, returns, and journal entries
• Review and contribute to month end processes, statutory accounts, and management commentaries, delegating tasks to juniors in the team as needed
• Improve and document client processes, using tech to streamline workflows where possible
• Build custom reporting tools and insights to support client decision-making
• Manage client relationships, respond to questions, and handle a range of ongoing and one-off requests
• Track team workload, time and resources allocated per project internally to help manage portfolio and fees charged to clients
• Ad hoc tasks to support the Founders and Finance Directors/CFO's

What We Need to See (Essential)

• Fully qualified (ACCA, ACA, or CIMA) with at least 6 months' PQE
• Strong month-end and management accounts exposure
• Knowledge of Xero

What We'd Like to See (Bonus)

• Previous experience in an SME/scale-up environment
• Previous experience in the tech/SaaS industries

Package:

Salary: £45,000 - £50,000 + bonus and competitive benefits

Location: London

Start Date: ASAP

Hybrid: 3 days in office / 2 days working from home
