Financial Accountant

We are excited to be partnered with a Global Consumer Goods brand to recruit a Financial Accountant role into their growing UK finance function based in St Albans.

The Role:

This newly created position reports into the Group Financial Controller and is responsible for the monthly preparation of balance sheet reconciliations as well as completion of VAT returns and act as a point of contact for the company’s ESG requirements.

This is a technical role but has some true value add elements and requires someone who has that technical grounding but also has the aptitude to investigate and problem solve.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and review monthly balance sheet reconciliations
• Assist in the preparation of VAT returns
• Support with external reporting requirements including Office for National Statistics (ONS).
• Support the Group Financial Controller with both External and Internal Audit processes.
• Work alongside the Group Financial Controller on budgeting and forecasting.
• Support the wider Finance function with adhoc project work as required.

The Ideal Candidate:

• ACA/ACCA qualified Accountant with 1 years’ PQE
• Strong understanding of IFRS, US GAAP and able to demonstrate applying these in practice.
• Proven track record of management accounting including month-end close, journal postings and adding commentary.
• Strong understanding of financial reporting and statutory accounting
• Advanced level of Excel
