Financial Accountant

Are you an experienced accountant ready for a new challenge in a successful manufacturing business?

We’re working with a well-established firm in Lancaster to recruit a Financial Accountant. This is a permanent role, offering up to £48,000 and a great opportunity to step into a varied position with real responsibility across the finance function.

You'll be joining a friendly team and reporting directly to the Head of Finance. The role is hands-on and wide-ranging, giving you exposure to month-end, budgeting, and fixed assets, as well as overseeing Accounts Payable and supporting junior team members.

What you’ll be doing:

• Producing accurate month-end and year-end accounts to group deadlines
• Preparing monthly management reports and reviewing cost allocations
• Overseeing the Accounts Payable function, providing support to the team
• Maintaining the fixed asset register and ensuring project spend is accounted for correctly
• Supporting the Head of Finance with budgeting and performance review
• Assisting with tax-related reporting (R&D, Patent Box, etc.)
• Managing cash outflows and submitting reports to group finance
• Keeping financial processes and documentation up to date
• Deputising for the Head of Finance when needed

What we’re looking for:

• A qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA) or someone qualified by experience
• Strong Excel and general IT skills
• Solid experience within a finance role, ideally in a manufacturing setting
• Someone accurate, organised, and comfortable supporting others in the team
• A proactive approach with great communication skills

What’s on offer:
You’ll receive a competitive salary of up to £48,000, along with 25 days’ holiday plus bank holidays. There’s a yearly bonus based on company performance, and a staff discount scheme. While the role is mostly office-based, there’s some flexibility around hours (especially outside of month-end), and occasional remote working if needed.
