Financial Accountant

DK Recruitment are working with a growing, multi-entity business in Exeter who are looking to appoint a Financial Accountant as they continue to scale. This is a great opportunity to join a collaborative and high-performing finance team during a really exciting period of growth.
The role is a mix of management and financial accounting, offering solid variety across reporting, controls, and process improvement work. It would suit someone with strong technical foundations, attention to detail, and the confidence to work with stakeholders across the wider business.
You'll be based in a modern office just outside Exeter, with free parking and a flexible hybrid model (typically 2-3 days in office).

Key responsibilities include:

• Full production of monthly management accounts (accruals, prepayments, revenue adjustments, balance sheet recs)
• Variance analysis and commentary for senior leadership
• Supporting monthly forecasting, KPIs, and board packs
• Managing invoicing and intercompany recharges across the group
• Assisting with statutory accounts and annual audit process
• Preparation of quarterly VAT returns
• Contributing to systems/process improvement projects
• Supporting and mentoring junior team members

What we’re looking for:

• ACA / ACCA / CIMA qualified or finalist
• Confident producing management accounts to ETB level
• Strong Excel skills (XLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables, SUMIFs) and experience with Xero or similar
• Solid understanding of IFRS / UK GAAP
• Great communication skills and a proactive, hands-on attitude

Nice to have:

• Group or multi-entity experience
• Prior involvement with audits or finance transformation projects
• Experience supervising junior staff
