Financial Accountant

Financial Accountant, Art Gallery, West London, £45-55k
We are partnering with a cultural institution in London to find a Financial Accountant to support the continued growth of the organisation. This iconic institution is a cultural landmark and one of the city's most unique art galleries, known for its exceptional collections and exhibitions. Reporting to the Head of Finance, the Financial Accountant will manage month-end processes, prepare statutory accounts, and ensure timely VAT and gift aid submissions. They will oversee two direct reports, supporting their development.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee the financial processing team to ensure efficiency and effectiveness of transactional processes
• Manage weekly bank reconciliations and monthly balance sheet reconciliations
• Process payroll on a fortnightly basis
• Oversee weekly payment runs
• Prepare and submit quarterly VAT returns
• Work closely with senior management to maintain a robust control environment
• Take on leadership responsibilities, with opportunities for mentorship and development

Qualifications & Skills:

• ACCA, CIMA, ACA qualified or Finalist (1 or two exams left)
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in accounting
• Strong intermediate proficiency in Excel
• Passion for the arts and creative industries is desirable
• Experience with Access Dimensions accounting software is a plus
