Stoke-on-Trent City Council is undergoing an ambitious transformation, driving innovation across services and investing in the city’s future. As part of this journey, we are partnering with Castlefield Recruitment to expand our finance team and seek 9 talented, motivated individuals to help shape the next chapter of our success.

The Financial Accountant posts will work as part of a developing commercially focused team to provide financial and commercial advice to a range of key services and transformational projects across the Council. Responsibilities include;

• Supporting the delivery of excellent financial reporting, treasury management, and taxation services
• Assisting in driving improvement within the financial control environment and identify and report on risks and opportunities
• Reporting to the Principal Financial Accountant, providing technical guidance and support to the team of qualified and part-qualified accountants as well as the wider organisation
• Supporting statutory reporting processes, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards
• Assisting in treasury management activities, ensuring effective cash flow and investment strategies

The successful candidate;

• CCAB/CIMA qualified Finance professional (or equivalent experience)
• Strong technical skillset with a passion for driving financial control environments
