About The Role

The Financial Accountant plays a key role in ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and compliance of Attivo’s financial reporting across all group entities. Responsible for maintaining high-quality internal financial information, the role supports effective decision-making and ensures statutory financial statements are prepared in line with relevant accounting standards and regulatory requirements. Acting as a primary contact for external auditors, the Financial Accountant also works closely with the Financial Controller to provide technical accounting expertise across the business, offering guidance on complex accounting matters and leading acquisition accounting activities. This role is integral to supporting Attivo’s continued growth by ensuring financial transactions are accurately recorded and reported across the group.

About You

You are a qualified ACA or ACCA accountant with strong technical accounting knowledge and the confidence to work collaboratively with senior finance stakeholders, including the Financial Controller, CFO, auditors, and external advisors. Highly organised and detail-oriented, you are comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and strong financial controls. You bring excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to explain complex financial matters clearly and build effective relationships across the business. A proactive and adaptable approach is essential, alongside a commitment to continuous improvement, supporting finance projects, process enhancements, and Attivo’s ongoing growth.

Key Responsibilities Include

• Maintain and strengthen financial control measures across the group, ensuring all policies, procedures, and reconciliations are consistently followed and regularly reviewed. 


• Support finance-related projects, including system improvements, acquisitions, integrations, and process enhancements. 


• Work closely with the Management Accountant team to produce the monthly consolidated Balance Sheet, ensuring accuracy and completeness, and supporting it with well-prepared, timely reconciliations.


• Review and reconcile intercompany transactions and group consolidations. 


• Lead the preparation of annual statutory financial statements for all group entities, including the consolidated set, ensuring full compliance with FRS 102 and incorporating any updates to accounting standards. 


• Act as the primary contact for external auditors, managing the statutory audit process end-to-end. 


• Support the Trainee Financial Accountant in producing audit packs, gathering audit samples, and resolving audit queries promptly. 


• Act as the main point of contact for group tax advisors, supporting corporation tax compliance activities and ensuring accurate and timely submission of all required information. 


• Liaise with finance operational teams to improve financial understanding and reporting accuracy. 


• Prepare and submit VAT returns and other regulatory or statutory filings. 


• Any ad-hoc duties and reporting as required by the Financial Controller or CFO.

Essential Skills and Experience

• ACA or ACCA qualified Accountant
  


• Ability to discuss complex financial topics with the Financial Controller and auditors


• Well organised, accurate and with good attention to detail


• Excellent organisational and planning skills, with the ability to work proactively


• Able to work under pressure whilst maintaining excellent attention to detail


• Strong communications skills

Desirable Skills and Experience

• Financial Services experience


• Previous experience of working in an audit or an accounting practise


• Experience of PE backing and FCA reporting


• Tax compliance


• Knowledge of Sage 200 or a similar financial system
  

Salary and benefits

£35,000 - £55,000 (depending on experience and qualifications)
