Job DescriptionUK Export Finance – Financial AccountantGrade 7 £56,430 - £64,894paHybrid based in WestminsterThe UK government’s export credit agency.In 2022-2023, UK Export Finance (UKEF) provided £6.5 billion of financial support to UK exporters. They support businesses in all sectors to export, whether they’re a small and medium-sized enterprise (SME) or a large company.They are looking to bring onboard a new Financial Accountant into the Financial Control Division during unique period of transition for the team as they implement IFRS 9 and IFRS 17 accounting standards. This will also involve implementing a new system, general ledger and processes to support, the Financial Accountant will therefore be supporting the team during this busy period of change.This post will involve leading on all aspects of accounting, forecasting and financial reporting of the Departments insurance, financial guarantee, and direct lending products under the current accounting standards of IAS 39 and IFRS 4. The technical responsibilities are also uniquely blended with an element of business partnering, as the post holder will also provide monthly commentary of accounts to the management accounting team.UKEF has a complex set of financial models in place to manage significant data sets, including historical data, guarantee deals and much more. They therefore need someone with strong excel skills and experience managing large data sets with an excellent eye for detail and the ability to work well under pressure. They are a supportive and team-oriented organisation, keen to promote a high performance and ambitious working environment. Other key responsibilities include:Reviewing and analysing monthly and quarterly information for internal teams.Preparing month end commentary on monthly management account.Preparation of year end accounts and annual reports, followed by responding to audit queries.Support the production of biannual budgets on all aspects relating to insurance, financial guarantees and direct lending.Manage coach and support one junior member of staff that will report into this post.Overall this is an excellent opportunity for a fully qualified accountant, with a keen eye for detail and strong technical skills to excel within the organisation, making a real impact as UKEF goes through a significant period of change.
