Job Description - Financial Accountant / Group Accountant
Job Description Hutcheon Mearns is delighted to be engaged on a Group Financial Accountant role for an global business based in Edinburgh. The business has sites throughout the globe and is a market leader in its respective field. It is seeking a newly qualified accountant to fulfil the role of Group Financial Accountant to join its talented technical accounting team. The role is offering up to £50,000 per annum + bonus and additional benefits.
The role of Group Financial Accountant will report into the Financial Reporting Manager and will work closely the wider finance and business as a source of technical accounting knowledge. As Group Financial Accountant, you will be charged with delivering efficient month and year end results in adherence to technical accounting regulation. Moreover, you will be involved in process and controls improvement projects, as well as playing a role in the implementation new accounting regulation where necessary.
This role should be viewed as great opportunity for you to join a high calibre finance team that provide a stellar learning environment and the opportunity to progress through the team - both vertically (within financial reporting) or laterally (into other areas of finance) - following a 18-24 month period of strong performance.
Production of accurate monthly and annual financial statements Maintenance of the balance sheet including reconciliations Support the external audit process acting as a liaison Maintenance and development of internal control and financial policy Liaise with colleagues in finance and the wider business as necessary Support projects e.g. systems development, process improvement etc.
Newly qualified accountant (ICAS, ACCA, ICAEW or equivalent) Experience of working in a financial accounting or regulatory role including audit Good knowledge of accounting standards including IFRS and/or FRS102 Strong working knowledge of MS Excel The role of Group Financial Accountant is offering the following package:
