Financial Accountant (Royalties)
£65,000–£75,000 | London | Hybrid

Are you a technically strong Financial Accountant with royalties experience and a passion for the music industry? This is a fantastic opportunity to join a dynamic and highly respected music business, playing a key role in their finance team during a period of exciting growth and transformation.

We’re looking for a qualified accountant who brings solid technical knowledge, a strong understanding of royalty accounting, and the ability to hit the ground running in a fast-paced and collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare and deliver accurate and timely monthly management accounts, including detailed P&L and balance sheet reporting
Perform key balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring all variances are investigated and resolved promptly
Support the month-end and year-end close process, working closely with wider Finance and Royalties teams
Manage royalty accounting processes, ensuring contracts are interpreted and accounted for accurately
Work with internal stakeholders to ensure royalty statements are correctly accrued, calculated, and paid
Support the external audit process with detailed schedules and explanations as required
Assist in improving internal processes and controls related to royalty reporting and revenue recognition
Provide ad hoc financial analysis and project support to the Financial Controller and Finance Director

Key Skills & Experience:

Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
Solid technical accounting knowledge, with proven experience of monthly reporting, reconciliations, and P&L ownership
Prior experience working within the music industry or another royalties-focused environment is essential
Strong understanding of royalty contracts and associated accounting treatments
Excellent attention to detail, with a proactive approach to problem-solving
Confident communicator, able to build relationships across finance and non-finance teams
